We will start our tour at the upper parking area of Chora, from where we will set off to an easy walk in the capital of Amorgos. We will stop by the main points of interest and pay a visit to Maria, the local seamstress, who will introduce us to her needlework.
Our walk in Chora will conclude with a coffee break at the traditional taverna at the lower side of the village, before we board our bus towards Katapola.
At this point, there is the option of visiting the Monastery of Panagia Chozoviotissa, the impressive 1000-year old landmark of the island, before heading to the main port of Amorgos, Katapola.
Arriving at Katapola, we will enjoy an easy walk along the sea front and inner alleys of the village and then head towards the organic garden, where we will have the chance to meet the local farmer, before reaching our last stop, the quiet little port of Xylokeratidi across the bay.
To enter monasteries, visitors are required to wear long trousers/skirts and cover their shoulders. Even though clothes might be available at the entrance, we recommend you bring your own. Women’s skirts/dresses must cover the knees. Trousers are not allowed for women.
